Using your spouses ATM card is NOT allowed

Recently this verdict has hit the news where a woman had given her atm card to her husband to draw out money and while the money was deducted, they never received it. The link to the et post is here

No claim if you share ATM pin with your spouse card is decreed by the bank and the consumer court.

Even though the person showed that the money never came out through the cctv camera or the excess money found in the atm that day, it wasnt refunded.

These new tech all create problems for our families , even for me we use one standard card to take out the money and my wife also uses it sometimes .

With this recent order i have been thinking how to manage this. Here is a few options

1. Get separate atm cards for each of the family members which means different bank accounts. Transfer online ( its so easy now) whenever you want to take out the money and if the account has less funds

2. Or get a joint account which is from where the money is transferred out. I think that if the person withdrawing is an account holder this ruling will not apply

These hacks all can help you stay on the right side of the ruling  ... its smart to be knowledgeable.. its simplefinancialsense.
