I recently had the opportunity to interact ( as part of the audience) with the legendary Kapil Dev a couple of days ago. He was there as part of the " Ace it up " program in my company.
I learnt so much in this brief interaction. He said a couple of things which hit home in my psyche. Let me share these with you.
1. Be EXCITED when you come to work.
2. Do whatever you do with PASSION
he spoke about the fact that he always kept his head down and focussed on cricket . Did not get distracted. That was his secret. Focus!
In todays world he pointed out that we are habitual multi taskers- lets try and control these.
He was asked a question.. Whats his goal for the next few years- surprise surprise, he mentioned that he wanted to go to harward and study more.
Its not very often one gets to see and interact with such legends, my boss had the pleasure of giving him the thank you note..
Amazing people- simplicity to be learned.
Learn, focus and passion- three critical success words.
