Why do people crowd into lifts

Standing in a lift almost gasping for breath or having someone try and get in even when the lift seems full..

Five car lanes when the road only has three lanes

Cars and bikes coming on the wrong side of the road..

Traffic jams when everyone cannot wait..

Parents spending on children but not buying basics for themselves especially when they have money

All of the above reflective of the habits and behaviours of a resource crunched society... India

So behaviours are in built into people, basis their environment and thus comes into strict contrast with people who had different level of resources and hence different behaviours  and thus different expectations.

Today we see a lot of people comment on why the indian society doesnt respect rules.. most recently a tweet from Ms Mazumdar the ceo of Biocon on behaviours on an indian railway crossing.

What people forget is the issue of lack of resources or peoples behaviours who dont have similiar resources such as them. You with additional resources can afford to take time out and breathe.. but others need to reach on time..because they are paid by the hr.. on what deliveries they make.. because somewhere people who had resources took the decision to drive higher productivity by giving the right incentives.. transaction based models.

So.. resources is critical.. only with resources can we pull poor out of their poverty or poor out of their tricks to make more money faster.

India has less resources unlike the US or china .. where it is plentiful .. or the developed world. Resources per person is even smaller, because of our high population

Thus when outside people look at india they fail to understand our needs and how india needs to operate

I wish life was plentiful and simple.. but it is not..

Understanding it is important and thats why it is simplefinancialsense
