Negotiation is a Must

I am not a person who negotiates for a couple of Rs when i buy anything--- let it be some food, vegetables, take an auto. Never believed in the hassle of negotiating.

A couple of days ago however I was buying some flowers and I stood there trying to decide what I could buy and kept changing my mind. I had asked the person what the price was for a particular bouquet that i liked. He told me it was 300 Rs.

after a little bit more dilly dallying I asked him for a final quote and he brought it down to 275. I told him that i would pay 250 Rs. and he Agreed!!

That got me thinking-- I made a decent  15% profit.  ~ 50 Rs.

and I have decided that I am going to ask for a discount in the following products that i buy,

1. Medicines
2. Autofares
3. Juices
4. Ice Creams
5. Call up my cell phone and home phone company and ask for a discount.
6. Cable bill
7 Ask for an upgrade to business class next time i fly ( usually anyway the business class is empty)
8 Car services

I am sure that I will succeed in a few cases and maybe fail in a few ... but as a friend once told me... "poochne mein kya jaata hai" --- " what do you lose in asking"

Try it and lets compare notes at the end of the month.
