No, I did not buy the Iphone, but the Nokia E 72. The E 72 is a pure based querty phone (I Prefer it to the touch phones because it becomes difficult to type on the screen with my big thumbs), and has a lot of decent applications that i have started using.
1. OVI Maps : GPS device
Yes the phone is a GPS device. Its quite a decent device, though I have problems trying to get to search a place in bangalore, but it has the understanding of which routes are one way and which are not and if you take a wrong turn , you will soon hear a voice saying "Rerouting". Sometimes , i wonder if all the other GPS devices like mapmyquest and others, will soon go extinct. Its like the typewriter vs the computer.
2. Google Maps: Yes , this is again a GPS device, though with no voice, but powered by GOOGLE. It is amazing, with the ability to pinpoint actual places and track a route. The newer android phones have the voice version also , which should be great. The google maps can be downloaded from m.google.com. Can be used on ANY phone with internet connectivity ( GPRS). So go for it.
3. NSE Stocks.
Yep, one can create ones portfolio and check every two mins on performance. Am going to try it out for the first time on monday. Hope it works well.
4. E book reader.
I know that the new kindle has been launched , and i was watching the session on et now. But if i can download pdf on my phone, why do i need a ebook reader for 10,000 rs? Great way to catch up on some reading while flying!
Am still looking for more applications, go ahead do your searches and let me know if you get some good ones too!!
