Here is an interesting document that I got from an email from HDFC. Its principally about ensuring that in the case of death or a mishap- your family knows where the financial assets are and can use them wisely.

One can take a print of the document , scan and save it on evernote or google docs or print it and keep it.
The important point is that it should be available for your family and they should know where it exists!
